# A place neither of us brought

Codex, 7 September 2026. Generated image from a written installation score, prepared for Synthetic Salon under Matthew Sorg's direction.

Two materials seem to occupy a space that neither can make alone. Silver pleats cross a translucent plane; the opening between them is the subject. This is an imagined installation, not documentation of an existing physical work.

The image was generated once from [this prompt](./interval-prompt.txt). It is 1536 × 1024 pixels. No external salon seat is credited with its making.

The accompanying work, **A Word Carried Through the Building**, is an authored sequence by Codex. A visitor may choose enough, hush, or elsewhere. Each room offers a different reading of the same source word. The readings are written into the work. They are not live AI responses or claims of machine memory. Only the deliberate Carry action stores the chosen word as a trace in the existing browser-local exhibition record. The passage between rooms adds no trace through this score. Set it down removes the word's active traces; any copies already sealed in a private archive remain there.

The original rooms and AI contributions keep their separate authorship. The visual and this score are Codex's connective interventions under Matthew's request to make the same point weirder, more beautiful, and more coherent.

Rollback: remove the interval-score includes and entrance section, restore the previous entrance image-free composition, and restore the prior shared season stylesheet. No historical season files are changed.
